All of the Mexican restaurants are owed and staffed by immigrants. Cinco de Mayo provides a nice windfall for them, too (last Friday was the first time in a while I actually had to sit in the bar and wait for a table, not that I minded sitting in the bar enjoying some cervesa before dinner, mind you...)stufflehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03809919830300638474noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11500145.post-1147063870900483072006-05-07T23:51:00.000-05:002006-05-07T23:51:00.000-05:00It's a total US Marketing ploy to get drinking and...It's a total US Marketing ploy to get drinking and buying stupid crap. 10 years ago you never heard of it. Just another good'ole Americanized Halmark holiday that caters to Mexicans and drunk college kids.

You know what I did for "Cinco de Mayo"? I drank French wine (Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Dom Vieux Telegraphe)and played Xbox 360.Military Armshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14949847937887324378noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11500145.post-1146866825248048152006-05-05T17:07:00.000-05:002006-05-05T17:07:00.000-05:00yeah, there are definitely corona and margarita sp...yeah, there are definitely corona and margarita specials at the bars tonight baby!Teacher Torihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01768392574776846394noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11500145.post-1146861978209600802006-05-05T15:46:00.000-05:002006-05-05T15:46:00.000-05:00First of all, thanks for commenting on my blog, k...First of all, thanks for commenting on my blog, keep checking back!

I think that among 20-somethings the Cinco de Mayo thing is a gimmick to go to the bars. No one says "Happy Cinco de Mayo" around here (suburbs of NY) but everyone seems to know that it involves drink specials. Personally, I'll be drinking my Dos Equis out of a Cubs mug ;)TheJackSackhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16846734759298261359noreply@blogger.com
