bye bye Tookie!!!!

ENJOY THE REST OF ETERNITY IN THE FIERY DEPTHS OF HELL TOOKIE.

Just because you are reformed doesn't mean you get a free pass. Or does it? I'm a Catholic, doesn't God forgive someone who truly is remorseful?

Well, I'm not God, stating the obvious, I know, so I don't have to forgive him for slaughtering 4 innocent people.

But look at this website!!!! SAVE TOOKIE . Here's just a sampling:

"Stan is a peacemaker on death row.
He has been nominated 5 times for the Nobel Peace Prize for his work in helping to prevent gang violence.
He has been nominated four times for the Nobel Literature Prize for his children's books that warn young people about the pitfalls of joining a gang and exposes them to alternatives."

I found this to be quite interesting as well (courtesy of Flopping Aces):

While Williams’ celebrity cheerleaders have claimed he has been a model prisoner throughout his sentence and have pointed to this as evidence of his rehabilitation, the DA’s report contains 11 examples of incidents for which he was disciplined, beginning in 1981 and continuing through 1993. They include:

* a violent fight with another inmate June 30, 1981, in which he repeatedly struck the prisoner while kneeling over him;

* a refusal to line up for a return to his cell Jan. 26, 1982, in which he threatened a guard;

* throwing a chemical substance in the eyes of a guard Jan. 28, 1982, in an attack that resulted in chemical burns and emergency treatment;

* a second attack on a guard with a chemical substance Jan. 29, 1982;

* an attack on another inmate Feb. 16, 1984, in which Williams only stopped beating the prisoner when a warning shot was fired;

* a threat to kill a guard June 8, 1984;

* the beating of another inmate July 4, 1986 that only ceased when armed officers arrived on the scene;

* another fight with an inmate that led to his own stabbing, reportedly retaliation for his ordering another inmate to be stabbed;

* his continued association with the Crips street gang led to administrative segregation Oct. 19, 1988;

* the beating of another inmate Dec. 24, 1991, that only stopped after a warning shot was fired;

* another fight with other inmates July 6, 1993, in which a stabbing instrument (shank) was recovered.

The DA’s report also says Williams threatened all of the jurors after they found him guilty.

“Specifically, the defendant looked at the jurors and said he ‘was going to get all’ of them,” said the report.
“After learning of this threat, the trial judge inquired of the jury foreperson. The foreperson confirmed the defendant mouthed the words ‘I’m going to get each and every one of you m—–f——.”

What about the fact he's a killer? You can go to this blog to see the pics of his victims. The liberals are organizing rallies and vigils all over the country tonight. I must say, his passing won't cause me a moments loss of sleep.

The story always means more then the facts to the far left. The fact that the man was a cold blooded killer means nothing. Our actions speak louder then our words

Yes. Even back in the old testiment, God forgave those who were truly remorseful. So, if Tookie was truly remorseful and turned to Jesus, then perhaps he is in paradise this day (just like one of the condemned men execuated with Jesus).

Don't take all that to mean that I don't think he should have been executaed or anything. That was fair and just punishment for what he did, and justice was served by his execution. It was absolutly the correct punishment for his crime. Then again, that is a totally seperate question than whether he is forgiven by God.

Anyhow, that's my take on it.

I am going to change my previous answer a tad after reading the linked column. Specifically, my previous answer pertained to a repentant sinner. Evidently, Tookie is not one of those (the "repentant" part, that is):

Williams, however, has never admitted guilt.

Context please. Which statement(s) are you referring that point to CP used for revenge?

I love the way these Hollywood Elites always seem to rally behind the criminals.
I don't think he would have been remorseful had he not gotten caught. He would probably continue his violent ways.
So give him the Peace prize for his books and the needle for his murders.

Yes I know he hardly sold any books,so how many people did he actually help? What a bunch of phonies.
I can't believe there were no riots.

That is a statement of justice served, not a statement of revenge. Thus, if you are brining up this statement due to my request for a statement backing up the other robot's revenge statement, you are off base...

News Flash:
Today on Rush he had a clip of an Iraqi woman being interviewed after the election and she said
"If no one likes what America and President Bush are doing for us then they can all go to hell"
Guess where you won't hear that?

My guess is space. In space, no one can hear your political opinions.

What do you say to reports that over 80% of Iraqis want us to leave?

Unless this article is from another, more parallel universe where time is backwards. Then you should just ignore it.

good, I'm glad they want us to leave! I love hearing the new Iraqi police say "We thank the Americans for their help, now we'd like them to leave b/c its our job to take care of our people and country."

Good! When we see fit and the country is secure, lets get the hell out and have all those hot soldiers, Marines, guardsman and Airmen home!

Hello TT: I see the 69 cusser is here. I just wanted to wish you a happy holiday/Merry Christmas. I don't like the government to have the power to take a life, has nothing to do with reforming the guy; just the principle. Those pics were very disturbing and I feel for the relatives of the deceased, but once government can take a life (outside of war), government can do anything it wishes. I don't like that one bit. I have been ill the last couple of days, but am awake cuz I cannot sleep. I hope you stay well and don't get this Godawful pneumonia!

It is true, we can pick our friends, but not our relatives (too bad) :)
