seriously....

Why do I keep finding guys who need to go back to school? Last boyfriend, starting law school at 27, new guy I'm "talking to", 30, just had his PhD application pass the first hurdle at a top school 2,000 miles away. I give up!!!! I get that they are trying to better their careers and I admire that but, Grrrrrrrrr. Do I have to start looking at mid/late 30s to find someone done completely with full-time schooling?

Don't worry about it, I'll bring enough money to buy a few extra PVC pipes. :)

In truth life is a trade off . The reason I did not go to Law Scool was my girlfriend wanted to get married. I would be a societal parasite rather then a DHS employee.

I do not regret not going to Law School even though the marriage did not work out. I have had a life of adventure that was seldom boring.

You will find the right person but remember the old adage follow a mans eyes to know where his heart is.

thats what Ranting Republican and I were saying last night.

My last boyfriend was a poly sci major and had all intentions of going to law school directly after college, but then took a law class, blew it off and decided he couldn't do any more schooling for a while. He lifeguarded and worked for a company that jerked him around for a few years and me breaking up with him was a big motivating factor and now he's going to give law school a shot.

This guy now, started off in banking, then wasn't happy so went for a M.Ed in Education, taught 5th grade for a year, missed adult interaction and now works for a university. He cannot get to where he wants to be in higher education without a PhD. I suggested doing it part-time but that would take at least 5-7 years...but if he were to go full time it would take much less.

Sometimes I think its necessary, and other times I think people just like being in school to avoid the real world. Well, either that or some people I know join the Peace Corps to do the same.

Everyone has their own time table for things, I guess!
