I love Cheney

I was invited to a luncheon supporting a wonderful local candidate and Vice President Dick Cheney was the guest speaker.

Look how close I was! Cheney spoke a lot about the terrorist's plot to take out Chicago's Sears Tower. He said it's proof that we need to continue our fight against terrorists abroad.

I'll tell you what, I've seen President Bush and now VP Cheney talk and I am WAY more terrified of Cheney. He's got that crazy look in his eye and I think he'd make an amazing President!

So, unrelated to this post, I was excited about my most recent work trip to Portland, Oregon. I saw Wesley Clark in the airport on the way back in Denver. However, that wasn't nearly as exciting as seeing Zach from the Real World-Key West, in a restaurant in Portland. Call me lame, but I was star struck.

I like Dick Cheney as well.

Wow, that's so cool Tori. I wish I could have been there! Why don't they invite me to these get togethers? :)

So, I went to my first Cubs game Friday night, at Miller Park. Here are a few observations:

1. The Cub's fans were well behaved. A friend of mine told me they were loud and obnoxious, but where I was sitting on the leftfield line, they were neither.
2. What was up with the Cub's fan next to me, who ordered over $18 of peanuts and $20 of sodas from a walk-up vendor and never tipped. He received his exact change and never even thought to tip. Is tipping not customary South of the border?
3. The Cub's fans were very serious. Much more serious than I was about the game, as I swiggled down my three large Miller Lite beers.
4. There were more Brewer's fans than I thought there would be at the game.
5. The Cub's fans seem to not recall who is current on their team. I saw some of them wearing Mark Grace and Sandberg jerseys. Why? I'm not sure. I didn't see any Brewer's fans wearing Yount or Cooper jerseys to the game. Though I did see a guy with a shirt that said, "party like it's '82."

How many Cubs fans bother to show up to support their team, and how obnoxiously they do so, is really something that is in direct proportion to how well their team is doing.

Go some year when their team doesn't suck, and there will be a lot more of them, and they will be loud, belligerent, and obnoxious...

BTW - whatever disease the Cubs have that keeps them from actually hitting the ball seems to have been passed on to the Brewers during this series...

i'll tell you what, this is the first summer that I haven't been to Wrigley. I just can't see calling a scalper (b/c the entire season is basically sold out) and then driving 50 miles to see them lose. I am a live long Cubs fan but I have a mortgage to pay and won't waste my $$$ to go watch sub-par baseball.

Which makes me think.....am I going to drive up 3 hours to Lambeau field to see my Packers play this season if they suck again????

Hahahaha the Cubs. What a joke.

The Packers will suck again this year, that's a given.
